Like water, soil, and wires for a bonsai tree, there are many ways to help nurture and grow the National Bonsai Foundation. Other than donating financially, we encourage you to browse these additional ways you can support our mission, including shopping at our online bookstore and gift store, monthly giving, qualified charitable distributions, and planned giving. COMMEMORATIVE BENCHES
You can work with the National Bonsai Foundation staff to find a suitable location for a tribute bench in the Museum. The bench will be adorned with an elegant, custom plaque, and will remain for more than a decade among our world-class collections of bonsai and penjing. A tribute bench can mark any occasion you wish, such as a wedding anniversary, retirement, or birth of a child. It can also serve as a peaceful memorial in honor or memory of a loved one.
Monthly Giving
The National Bonsai Foundation's (NBF's) monthly giving program exists so that you can continue to support bonsai throughout the year. This program allows NBF to rely on consistent fundraising to plan upcoming programs and exhibitions celebrating hundreds of years of history showcased at the Museum.
By choosing the "monthly donation" button on the donation form, you can help NBF share the art of bonsai.
Planned Giving
Your personal gift would enable the Foundation to support the National Bonsai & Penjing Museum at the U.S. National Arboretum in Washington D.C. Whether you are interested in designating a charitable gift annuity today or planning for something more long term, the National Bonsai Foundation would love to explore your options with you.

Qualified Charitable Distributions
If you are age 70 1⁄2 or older, please consider donating to the National Bonsai Foundation through a qualified charitable distribution (QCD). A QCD is a direct transfer of funds from an IRA custodian, payable to a qualified charity like NBF.
